How it works

Sign in with Google
CodeHound asks Google for read-only access to your Gmail. It cannot send, delete, move or change anything, and you can revoke the access at any time from your Google account.
Your phone reads your Promotions tab
The app fetches the emails Gmail has already filed under Promotions for the last 7 to 90 days and reads them on your iPhone. There is no CodeHound server. The emails are never uploaded anywhere.
Get one clean list
Store, code, offer and deadline, grouped by store, with expired deals hidden and the same code from five reminder emails folded into one row. Pull to refresh whenever you're about to check out.

Codes

Offers

Deadlines
"Ends Sunday", "expires 9/30", "valid through September 30th", "48 hours only", "today only". Deals ending today are flagged in red.
Grouped by store
Every deal is filed under the sender's store, so Nike's five emails become one Nike section.

Tap a deal to see the email's subject and the sentence the code came from, then jump to the original email in Gmail.
What CodeHound does with your Gmail
CodeHound is built so that the only place your email exists is where it already was: in Gmail, and briefly in memory on your phone.
- Read-only. The app requests Google's
gmail.readonlypermission and nothing else. It cannot send, modify or delete mail. - Promotions only. It searches for messages in Gmail's Promotions category within your chosen look-back window. Your personal mail is never requested.
- On your device. Emails travel over an encrypted connection straight from Google to your iPhone, are parsed in memory, and are discarded. Only the extracted deals are kept, on the phone.
- No server, no analytics. There is no CodeHound backend. Nobody at CodeHound can see your mail or your deals.
- Ads that know nothing about you. CodeHound pays for itself with a small banner from Google AdMob, requested as non-personalized on every device. Your email and your deals are never shared with the ad service.
- Yours to revoke. Sign out in Settings to revoke the token and delete the saved deals, or remove CodeHound from your Google account permissions at any time.
